DESCRIZIONE
This vine belongs to the Bordolese tradition and it was introduced to Friuli in the mid XIX century. On the hills of Rosazzo, it found a habitat that proves favorable to its ripening process and its greatest expression results in high quality wines.

VINIFICATION
After crushing, the marcs are left to macerate in contact with the musts for 4-5 days at temperatures ranging between 25° and 28° C. Frequent pumping over allows for improved color extraction and wine body. Once alcoholic fermentation is finished, the malolactic process is carried out and the wine is placed in phase-two 300-liter casks, where it stays for approximately 4 months. An in-bottle refining stage follows which lasts at least 6 months.

WINE
It has an intense ruby-red color with lovely violet shades. The nose perceives its clean scent recalling tiny red berries, ripened fruit and cherry. To the palate, it’s robust, boasting an optimal balance between structure and elegance.

MATCHES
This highly adaptable wine is well-matched with grilled red meats, game, oven roasted chicken and aged cheeses.
