ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13 % volume

GRAPE VARIETIES USED:Merlot 100%.

PRODUCTION AREA AND EXPOSURE:vineyards in the Municipality of Prepotto, in the province of Udine, at an altitude of 160 m. asl, facing east.

SOIL TYPE: eocene marl, rich in potassium and microelements, with a balanced proportion of clay and skeleton; poor in organic substances.

TRAINING SYSTEM:Guyot and Sylvoz short cane

VINTAGE: harvested into crates be hand at the end of September.

VINIFICATION: stripping and crushing of the grapes, followed by maceration with daily délestage. Malolactic fermentation completed in wooden barrels.

MATURATION AND AGEING: in stainless steel tanks and barrels of different cyclesfor around 8 months. Further aged in the bottle for a few months before being placed on the market.

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS:Deep ruby red in colour. Well-rounded, robust aroma, with slightly grassy notes reminiscent of black cherry and raspberry. Crisp, generous, firmly-structured, full-bodied flavour which improves significantly as the wine ages, acquiringpleasant, spicy overtones.

SUGGESTED PAIRINGS: its well-rounded flavour makes it a perfect partner for a wide range of dishes, particularly rabbit, charcuterie products, roasted and grilled meats.

HOW TO SERVE:at a temperature of 18-20°C in good-sized glasses.
