Grapes: Pinot Grigio 100% ; Origin: Oleis di Manzano, company-owned grapes ; Terrain Type: Marly and eocenic ; Altitude: 120 – 170 m above sea level ; Cultivation method: Guyot ; Vineyard density: 4.500 vines per hectare ; Grape yield: circa 7.0 tons per hectare

Description: The most celebrated wine in the world, Pinot Grigio has been cultivated in Friuli for centuries with great results that showcase the intense expressivity of the area’s hilly terrain, where local wines acquire intense scents and a good level of concentration.

Vinification: Whole grapes are placed in the press, where they are softly squeezed. Winemaking occurs in white, immediately separating the skins from the musts, in steel vats at controlled temperatures. Partial malolactic fermentation is then carried out and the wine remains in yeast-filled steel containers for six months. It is then bottled and left to rest for two more months.

Wine: This straw-colored wine has golden reflections. To the nose, it gives off pronounced floral scents that become fruity, recalling the flavor of apple and ripened pear. The palate will find this wine soft and engulfing as it wisely combines good body with pleasantly acidic nervature, which provides for fresh drinkability. Well-balanced in all its components, this wine has a good level of persistence.

Matches: Highly versatile when dining, this wine is an excellent match for white meats and flavorful fish like tuna. It combines well with fish-based first courses and hearty bean soups. Finally, it’s perfect when enjoyed with aged cold-cuts.
